Last Thursday we had the distinct pleasure of providing all of the proteins for Spring Street Social Society’s first meet-up in Los Angeles. SSSS is a supper club that occurs every two months in a secret location that is revealed to the attendees the morning of the event. Each occurrence is completely unique and has included cabaret variety shows, immersive theater performances, live music, and poetry readings.
Sprint St. was founded by Patrick Janelle and Amy Buchanan after they met in New York as a way to combined all of their passions: Hospitality, entertaining, performing, and merging different creative groups together. Since their first small gatherings, the event and its founders have grown in notoriety, turning SSSS into a coveted ticket every time it happens. For their first foray into Los Angeles, the event was hosted on the 10th floor of the Cooper building downtown. With gorgeous views of the city and countless windows, the space was perfect for an evening spent with friends.
The amazing venue was just the start. The evening’s entertainment included a lovely accordion player, live music performed by Amy, and a dance performance. This, of course, was all just in lead up to the main event prepared by chef Nicole Rucker: dinner. Premier Meat Company provided oysters for the appetizers, shrimp that were pickled and served with lettuce gems, and pound upon pound of pork shoulder braised in milk and served with fresh biscuits.
